ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL RACE FOR PALOMBA AND VITI RACING IN THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN SARNO
Palomba won the first of the two finals in Sarno and climbed up to the second place of the Italian Championship. Piccioni and Ebner also on track with Viti Racing.
Giuseppe Palomba claimed the second win in a row at the Italian ACI Karting Championship in Sarno’s race1 after the spectacular victory taken in Race2 at Triscina. The driver assisted by Viti Racing, has been competing in Sarno on BirelART run by Team LG Motorsport. He has been unstoppable in the first final taking a well-deserved win setting also the fastest lap of the race in 56.403s at the average speed of 98,793 km/h on the fast 1.547 meters of the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno.
Race2 has been tougher for the driver from Naples that had to start from P8 due to the top eight grid inversion. This time Palomba struggled more than expected to recover some ground and had to settle for P5, scoring some further points for the classification though. Giuseppe Palomba is now second in the standings with a 20 points gap to the top.
For Palomba it is already the moment to think to the forthcoming European Championship that will take place in Belgium at Genk in the weekend of September 6th. This is going to be another exciting challenge for the title.
Antonio Piccioni on DFM-TM and Moritz Ebner on Intrepid-TM were also supported by Viti Racing in Sarno. Their weekend has not been particularly positive though, despite the good efforts put in by the two drivers. They have been slowed down by some hiccups. The best result for Piccioni came in Race1 when he crossed the finish line in sixth place, but a 5s time penalty relegated him to the 10th position. Ebner ended Race2 in 13th place at the end of a very good comeback from the last row of the grid as he had to retire from race1.
