VITI RACING TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN KZ2 WITH VASILE AT THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN SARNO

The top-tier KZ2 category saw an excellent turnout for the fourth round of the ACI Karting Italian Championship, held on 25–28 June in Sarno at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli. No fewer than 70 drivers competed, also as preparation for the upcoming European Championship event, thereby raising the standard of competition in a series of thrilling battles despite the sweltering heat experienced over the weekend in Sarno.

Daniel Vasile immediately proved himself to be among the very best, securing a spectacular pole position with a time of 56.347 in qualifying – a time no one else could match. The Viti Racing driver, competing for Federico Racing in a Maranello-TM Kart, delivered a superb performance, finishing over a tenth of a second ahead of all his rivals.

Daniel Vasile’s winning race pace, powered by Viti Racing engines, continued into the heats, with three clear victories across all three heats, where he consistently dominated with the fastest lap times. However, the final stage was not quite as fortunate: in Pre-final A, he was forced to settle for third place, which meant he was unable to retain pole position for the Final, despite starting from the front row. In the final race, he finished fourth, unfortunately missing out on the podium he would have richly deserved.

Among the other Viti Racing drivers, in the KZ2 Master class, Angelo Lombardo was forced to stage a remarkable comeback from qualifying, eventually securing eighth place in Pre-Final A. Unfortunately, the Sicilian driver, racing with Maranello Kart, was involved in an accident on the very first lap of the Final; he recovered but ultimately had to settle for third place on the Master podium.

Andrea Pirovano and Loris Castelletti, also on Maranello chassis, made it through to the final but were forced to retire during the race. Alessio La Martina, driving a CRG, did not take part in the final; he was extremely unlucky in qualifying and missed out on a place in the final by due to a single penalty.

The Viti Racing drivers:

#710 Angelo Lombardo (ITA) Maranello Kart – Maranello / Tm Kart / Vega

#711 Andrea Pirovano (ITA) Maranello Kart – Maranello / Tm Kart / Vega

#731 Daniel Vasile (ROU) Federico Racing – Maranello / Tm Kart / Vega

#815 Loris Castelletti (ITA) Castelletti – Maranello / Tm Kart / Vega

#825 Alessio La Martina (ITA) CRG Racing Team – CRG / Tm Kart / Vega

Viti Racing’s next event is on 5 July for the second round of the European KZ-KZ2 Championship, again at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno.
