PALOMBA AND GIANNONI IN THE TOP TEN OF THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN GENK WITH VITI RACING
Viti Racing satisfactorily welcomed the great race of Palomba in Belgium, his fourth place in the Championship and the great result of Giannoni that closed within the top ten. Good performances also by Doorn and Pauwels.
The second and closing round of the European FIA Karting KZ2 Championship took place at the Circuit of Genk (Belgium) and Viti Racing has played again an important role providing assistance to the TM Racing engines for its drivers: the Italians Giuseppe Palomba and Lorenzo Giannoni, the Dutch Coen Doorn and the Belgian Kobe Pauwels.
Palomba and Team BirelART have been third in the opener in Adria and came to Belgium with the chance of fighting for the title. Some setup issues and weather conditions did not help him to post a good time in qualifying and an unlucky heat relegated him to the 17th spot of the starting grid of the final. This was definitely not the ideal starting position for a European Championship, but Palomba bounced back and put in a stunning comeback race ending fifth overall. This result earned him the fourth place on the final standings, equal on points with the third classified. This good result rewarded also Viti Racing’s efforts as did the very positive performance put in by Lorenzo Giannoni, who competed in Genk for Team CPB Sport. Giannoni was at the comeback to competitions after the rib problem he had at the WSK race in Adria on early July. After a troubled qualifying session, Giannoni made up for some of the lost ground in the heats and ended within the top ten of this European race at the end of a good final.
Coen Doorn on KR and the other official BirelART driver Kobe Pauwels had a good race ending respectively in 14th and 17th place.
The next International event for Viti Racing will take place on September 20th in Lonato. This is going to be the WSK Euro Series and this appointment will be followed by the World Championship on October 4th in Lonato.
