Viti racing on the podium of the KZ2 European Championship with Palomba
Viti Racing had a fantastic weekend in Lonato at the closer of the CIK-FIA KZ European Championship in the Kart Grand Prix Italy. The preparator assisted several drivers fielded by teams of the likes of CRG SpA, CRG Modena Kart, BirelArt, Intrepid and CKR in this important race held at South Garda Karting. One of the biggest satisfactions of the whole season came eventually in such an important CIK-FIA race, thanks to the competitiveness level shown by the assisted drivers in a challenge that involved 78 drivers coming from 21 different countries.
The most prestigious result came from Giuseppe Palomba (Intrepid-Tm), who has been among the most competitive of the whole weekend and got on the second step of the podium in Lonato, after posting the quickest time of his series (third overall) and taking P2 after heats, thanks to two wins. This great result allowed Palomba to clinch the fourth place in the overall classification of the 2018 KZ2 European Championship.
Jean Luyet was also among the most competitive drivers with CRG Racing Team and ended the Final in 11th place after a great qualifying. The other CRG factory driver Filippo Berto just missed out on qualifying for the Final, as Simone Cunati who was on track for CRG Modena Kart and had an incident on Sunday morning. Regarding the two BirelArt drivers, the Swede Alexander Dahlberg run a strong race ending 13th, while the Ukrainian Ivan Peklin did not get past heats. The two CKR drivers had also quite tough luck: Lorenzo Giannoni qualified for the Final, but was forced to the retirement, while Marco Tormen had to stop in qualifying heats.
