VITI RACING AND PALOMBA ON TOP OF THE ITALIAN ACI KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP

Giuseppe Palomba is the new leader of KZ2 after the second round held in Adria. Viti Racing locked out the KZ2 Under-20 podium with Palomba, Moritz and Fulda. Good races also for Edoardo Tolfo.

Viti Racing and the drivers it assisted regarding engines had a perfect weekend in Adria. All the drivers have been very competitive in the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship and put in excellent results not only regarding the provisional standings, where Giuseppe Palomba (#101 LG Motorsport) took the lead of the Championship in KZ2 and KZ2 Under-20, but also for the great speed displayed by Marcus Funda (#135 Renda Motorsport), Moritz Ebner (#124 Tec Tav Racing Kart) and Edoardo Tolfo (#112 Mercury Karting Team).

Palomba got the most of his package and claimed the pole position in qualifying practice. Despite the very strong rivals he then kept the momentum winning race-1 and then claiming P4 in race-2 that started with inverted grid. These results earned him the classification lead both in the championship in KZ2 and in KZ2 Under-20, in the latter he got on the top step of the podium of both finals.

Marcus Funda joined him on the podium of KZ2 Under-20 securing a good P3 in the two races. The German driver also achieved good results in the KZ2 championship, as he ended the two finals in seventh and ninth place.
In race-2 a great satisfaction came from KZ2 Under-20 as three drivers assisted by Viti Racing completed the podium: Giuseppe Palomba, Moritz Ebner and Marcus Funda closed in fact in the order on top. Moritz Ebner was among the main protagonists of race-2 as he started recovering some ground in race-1 and continued climbing up in race-2 when he ended seventh overall.

Last year’s winner of KZN Junior Edoardo Tolfo also had a good weekend. He unfortunately had an incident in race-1, but bounced back in race-2 climbing up from the back of the grid to P13.
