VITI RACING TAKES THE VICTORY IN THE ACI ITALIAN KARTING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND OF VAL VIBRATA WITH PELOSI AND THE PODIUM WITH TONOLI
A good double result came in the opening round of the KZN Italian Championship in Val Vibrata thanks to Leonardo Pelosi, who won race-1 in KZN Junior and is the new classification leader, and Andrea Tonoli, who claimed P2 at the end of race-2 in KZN Over.
Viti Racing kicked off the Italian ACI Karting KZN campaign in Val Vibrata with great results: a double podium in Junior and Over with its assisted drivers in this important opener. In KZN Junior, Leonardo Pelosi (Maranello-TM Racing) claimed a spectacular win in race-1, while Andrea Tonoli (BirelART-TM Racing) secured a great P2 in KZN Over’s race-2.
Leonardo Pelosi has been the protagonist of KZN Junior since qualifying when he was 0.010s shy of the pole position. He confirmed such a strong performance in the heats when he secured one win and a second place, with fastest lap of the race in both occasions. The victory in race-1 and the fourth place in race-2 (started with the top 8 grid inversion) launched Leonardo Pelosi to the top of the provisional classification at 54 points, that is 12 clear of the closest rival.
Andrea Tonoli also run a great weekend. He recovered well from the 13th time in qualifying and was seventh after the heats, sixth in race-1 and claimed a deserved podium in race-2. Tonoli is currently fourth in the championship and is ready to fight for the title after the opening round in Val Vibrata.
The next rounds of the Italian ACI Karting championship for KZN Junior and Over will be on June 20th in Sarno, while the third and final round will be on August 29th in Battipaglia.
