Viti Racing and Palomba kicking off the season on a high at the Winter Cupinter Cup
Among the 94 drivers present in KZ2 at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato for the 23rd Winter Cup, Giuseppe Palomba has been shining on Intrepid chassis and TM engine prepared by Viti Racing. The Italian driver was fourth in Series 3 of qualifying of this classic race marking the opening of the International karting season 2018, being 10th overall and 0.064s shy of the pole position time. Difficult weather conditions made qualifying heats a bit trickier and Palomba was among the quickest nevertheless, taking P8 overall thanks to a victory, two second, a seventh and a thirteenth place. This prevented him from scoring an even more amazing result among all the champions present at this race. In the Super Heat Palomba was handed a 10s time penalty when his front fairing dropped in consequence of a contact, and this further complicated his Final. Forced to start from the 11th spot of the grid, Palomba put in a bold performance in the Final. He posted the third quickest lap of the race and ended with a very interesting ninth place, sliding in among two World Champions of the likes of Paolo De Conto and Jorrit Pex. The race was won by Ben Hanley.
