Palomba and Viti Racing great protagonist at the European Championship in Salbris

The French circuit in Salbris housed the first round of the European KZ2 Championship and Giuseppe Palomba on Intrepid-Tm assisted by Viti Racing has been among the protagonists since the beginning. Palomba put in a strong performance in Salbris: he has been very competitive since qualifying and heats held on Saturday. He posted the third quickest time in qualifying, deserving the lead among the underdogs of the CIK-FIA European KZ2 Championship being only 0.062s shy of the pole position time. Palomba confirmed his speed in the heats where he claimed two victories, a second place and a third. He was building his performance up, getting ready to fight for the victory. Unfortunately, a bad start in the closing heat on Sunday morning spoiled Palomba’s momentum and he slipped down to the ninth place of the provisional ranking. Palomba fought among the front runners in the closing race of Salbris, eventually crossing the line in seventh place. He was later on handed a 10s time penalty though, due to the dropped front fairing on his kart following a contact. This was a real pity, but such an hiccup did not take anything off the great competitiveness shown by Palomba in his debut at the European Championship 2018. He will contest the second round of the championship in Lonato on July 15th.
