THE THIRD WIN IN KZ2 OF VITI RACING ENGINES IN LA CONCA’S ROUND OF THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Viti Racing engines were the absolute protagonists once again at the La Conca International Circuit for the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship in KZ2, with Cristian Bertuca claiming his third victory in the 4 finals contested, including the double win in race 1 and race 2 at the first event in Sicily, and the victory in race 1 at the second event held in Salento. The perfect performance of Davide Forè in all four finals played so far was remarkable too.
Cristian Bertuca, racing with the LG Motorsport team on a BirelART-TM Kart, was the undisputed star of the weekend at La Conca from the practices, through the heats, and in the first of the two Finals with a commanding victory. Virtually, the victory in the fourth final at La Conca – race 2 – should also be assigned to him because his superiority here was undeniable as well. Unfortunately, his dominance was penalized due to an overtaking under yellow flags during the third lap when Bertuca was in full recovery mode after starting from the 8th position on the grid in reverse order compared to the finishing order of race 1, as per the format of the Italian Championship. Unfortunately, Bertuca had already initiated the overtaking when the yellow flag was displayed, and… the die was cast. He crossed the finish line in first position, but then came the penalty. It was a pity for the result that could have been more conclusive, but nothing changes in the standings, where Bertuca is the leader with a 30-point advantage in the overall category, and a 32-point lead in the Under 18 category.
Davide Forè also performed well in the KZ2 Master, despite the unexpected stoppage in both heats, respectively due to an accident and technical issues. Forè, racing with the Greek GSR team on a BirelART-TM Kart, made a 22-position comeback in race 1, and then finished a good 6th overall in race 2.
