Viti Racing in the top ten of the kz2 International Super Cup with Dahlberg
Viti Racing had an intense and satisfactory weekend in Genk at the World Championship “Kart Grand Prix Belgium”. Several drivers have in fact used engines prepared by Viti Racing in the CIK-FIA KZ2 appointment valid for the International Super Cup. They competed among the field of team Birel, CRG, CKR and Intrepid. This time around it was the Swede Alexander Dahlberg (BirelArt-TM-LeCont) the one to shine, as he has been excellent in the weekend of Genk taking a top ten finish in P9 out of the 105 drivers partaking in the Belgian event. Dahlberg has been very quick in qualifying and posted the second quickest time in Series2 in 52.908s. He also claimed two wins, a second and a third place in the heats. Dahlberg started the Final from the ninth place of the grid and run a strong race with several good duels that allowed him to cross the finish line in P9.
Among the finalists, Filippo Berto (CRG-TM-LeCont) was hit by bad luck, as he spun out due to a multiple contact in the first lap of the Final. Berto put in a recovery race, though, and ended at full laps in 23rd place.
Italian Championship leader Giuseppe Palomba (Intrepid-TM-LeCont) has been quite unlucky too. He was out of the Final due to the dropped front fairing, despite winning the closing heat. That was a pity, as Palomba had the speed needed to run a strong Final.
Lorenzo Giannoni (CKR-TM-LeCont) missed out on qualifying for the Final by a handful of points only, as happened to Ivan Peklin (BirelArt-TM-LeCont), Joost Elshuis and Justin Van der Schaft, the latter two drivers on CKR-TM-LeCont.
