DANIEL VASILE AND VITI RACING AT THE TOP OF THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER VAL VIBRATA
Daniel Vasile put in an excellent performance in the ACI Italian Karting Championship at Val Vibrata, emerging as one of the key contenders and the new leader in the standings. Congratulations are also due to Ermanno Quintieri, who also finished on the overall podium and came first in the Under-18 category.
Both drivers, racing in TM Kart by Viti Racing karts with the Federico Racing team and Maranello chassis, had an excellent weekend, made all the more challenging by the changeable weather conditions. But on the Val Vibrata track, the two Viti Racing drivers immediately felt at ease, right from the qualifying sessions, where Vasile clocked a superb 48.390 – the third-fastest time in Group 1 – and Quintieri did even better with 48.352, the third-fastest time in Group 2.
These performances instilled confidence for the rest of the event, given that in the heats, the best overall result was achieved by Vasile, with Quintieri just behind in third place. There were also strong performances from the other Viti Racing drivers, such as Alessio La Martina on CRG/TM Kart, Andrea Pirovano on Maranello/TM Kart, and Leonardo Liuzzi and Marco Dell’Elce on Birelart/TM Kart.
In the rain-soaked Pre-Finals, Daniel Vasile also had the satisfaction of winning Pre-Final A, with Ermanno Quintieri third and top of the Under-18s, and Alessio La Martina eighth. In Pre-Final B, Andrea Pirovano secured an excellent fourth place, with Leonardo Liuzzi finishing in the top ten.
Finally, the Final saw Daniel Vasile lead in the opening laps, before going on to secure a fine second place that saw him take the championship lead. An excellent Ermanno Quintieri also finished on the podium, topping the Under-18s. Alessio La Martina was also among the best, taking second place in the Masters category.
