VERY POSITIVE PERFORMANCE FOR VITI RACING ENGINES IN THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP AT LA CONCA
The second round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship at La Conca delivered a series of very positive results for the TM Kart by Viti Racing engines and their drivers. Among those demonstrating excellent competitiveness was Daniel Vasile in a Maranello, supported by Federico Racing, who finished third at the end of a fiercely contested final in which the Viti Racing driver staged a spectacular comeback.
A retirement in his third heat, following a strong second and a sixth-place finish in the other two heats, forced Vasile to mount a comeback. The recovery began in Pre-Final A and then took its final step in the final, where he had to start from the seventh row, ultimately securing a very positive third place in terms of the championship standings. With this result, Vasile is fourth in the overall standings, just a few points behind the leader.
Among the other key players at La Conca, Angelo Lombardo, racing for Maranello Kart, proved particularly competitive. He was the main contender in the overall standings and among the Masters in the special Over-35 classification, where he dominated in qualifying, the heats and Pre-Final A, securing third place overall and earning a place on the second row of the grid for the Final. Unfortunately, in the Final, Lombardo was forced to retire following an accident, bringing to an end the winning streak in the Masters classification that had begun at Lonato. Lombardo now occupies second place in the KZ2 Masters and ninth in the overall standings.
Ermanno Quintieri also made excellent progress, racing for Federico Racing in a Maranello, and started sixth on the grid for the final following his impressive second-place finish in Pre-Final A, ahead of Lombardo and Vasile. Unfortunately, however, Quintieri also had to retire from the final.
Michael Barbaro Paparo, racing for Monster K Factory, also put in a good performance, held back by a penalty in the final but among the best up to the pre-finals, with a fourth-place finish in Pre-Final B.
Andrea Pirovano, racing for Maranello Kart, also had a positive race, staging a great comeback in the final stages with a series of recoveries in Pre-Final B and the final.
The next round takes place on 28 June at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno.
