VITI RACING TAKES THE LEAD OF THE ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN KZ2 AND KZ2 MASTER IN SARNO
The weekend concluded once again very positively for Viti Racing engines in the Italian ACI Karting Championship at the end of the third round held at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno. The excellent performances of the drivers allowed them to consolidate not only their leadership in the KZ2 championship but also to gain dominance in KZ2 Master.
In KZ2, Elie Goldstein, racing with TB Kart Racing Team on TB Kart-TM Kart-Vega, gained significant points in Prefinal-A, recovering well from qualifying with good results in the heats. He then concluded a rather difficult final strongly and kept the championship lead.
An excellent exploit with Viti Racing engines in Sarno was achieved particularly by Angelo Lombardo, with Maranello Kart. He not only effortlessly won in the Master category, but he also stood out strongly in the overall standings, reaching the podium in the Final and taking the lead in the Master. This prestigious result, among the 59 drivers competing, propelled the Sicilian driver to fifth place in the overall standings and first place in KZ2 Master.
Kristijan Habulin, racing with TB Kart Racing Team, also reached the Master podium, thus completing, along with Angelo Lombardo, a strong performance in the category reserved for Over 35 drivers for Viti Racing.
Several Viti Racing drivers stood out in Sarno, such as the other fast Sicilian driver Michael Barbaro Paparo, who, with the Monster K Factory Team, authoritatively placed himself in the top positions throughout the weekend, eventually finishing seventh and climbing up to fourth in the championship standings.
Also among the best was the young driver from Calabria, Ermanno Quintieri, with the Auto Federico team on Maranello Kart, who was fast in practice and the heats, with the exception of one heat where he suffered a retirement due to a technical problem. He then fought in the Prefinal and Final, but a 5-second penalty for a misplaced front fairing unfortunately cost him quite a few positions in the final classification.
Also competing in Sarno with Viti Racing-equipped engines were Andrea Pirovano (TB Kart Racing Team) with a good result in KZ2 Under 18, as well as Marco D’Elia (LG Motorsport), Alessandro Zallocco (Monster K Factory Team), and Roberto Profico for KZ2 Master.
The next event for Viti Racing is the KZ2 and KZ2 Masters European Championship on July 22nd, also at the International Circuit Napoli in Sarno. The next round of the Italian Championship will be in Cremona on July 13th.
