VITI RACING AND ANGELO LOMBARDO WIN THE CHAMPIONS OF THE FUTURE KZ2 MASTERS IN FRANCIACORTA. PALOMBA IS THIRD IN THE KZ CHAMPIONSHIP

Angelo Lombardo secured a stunning victory with Viti Racing engines at the Franciacorta Karting Track in the second round of the shifters category’s Champions of the Future. The Sicilian driver demonstrated clear superiority in KZ2 Masters.

Also noteworthy was the excellent performance by Giuseppe Palomba in KZ. He was a leading protagonist throughout the weekend and was only prevented from reaching the podium by an unfortunate contact with an opponent just before the finish line. Despite this incident, Palomba is third in the championship when combining his points with the first race in Valencia, Spain.

KZ2 Masters. Angelo Lombardo dominates.

Angelo Lombardo, driving a Maranello Kart-Maranello/TM Kart/LeCont kart, won the final among the 48 participants in the category after achieving a spectacular and complete clean sweep during the qualifying phase.

The Sicilian driver secured pole position in practice, won all three heats, and took victory in Super Heat-1, before claiming the impressive win in the Final. Among the Viti Racing drivers in KZ2 Masters, the Croatian Kristijan Habulin was also among the best, finishing fifth in the final with TBKart Racing Team-TBKart/TM Kart.

Lombardo is hopeful ahead of the World Championship.

The Champions of the Future race serves as the prelude to the FIA Karting World Championship next week, which will also be held at Franciacorta. This result certainly instills confidence in Angelo Lombardo and Viti Racing for the upcoming event, as the Sicilian driver confirmed: “We had a great weekend where we won everything there was to win. Now we will be staying focused for next week, which is the most important race. We always try to remain competitive, but my rivals are also at a very high level. So I know we will have to fight hard next week for the World Championship, but I am confident.”

KZ – Palomba ends third in the championship.

Giuseppe Palomba, also driving a Maranello Kart-Maranello/TM Kart/LeCont kart, certainly deserved a podium finish after his excellent performance in practice, where he was fourth-fastest, just 0.048s off the pole position time. He then secured the top position after the three heats and finished third in the Super Heat. In the Final, he was battling for the top positions but, while in third place and in sight of the finish line, he was hit from behind at a corner by an opponent. The driver from Naples concluded the championship in third position overall.

KZ2 – Goldstein is among the best.

In KZ2, the Viti Racing “army” performed well with the goal of gaining experience from this event in preparation for the World Championship next week. During the intense Champions of the Future weekend at Franciacorta, there were several interesting performances, such as those put in by Belgian Elie Goldstein (TBKart Racing Team-TBKart/TM Kart/LeCont), although he had to settle for 17th place in the Final. Also among the top performers were the Sicilian Michael Barbaro Paparo (Monster K Factory Team-Monster K-TM Kart), who was unlucky in the Final, as was the Calabrian driver Ermanno Quintieri with Maranello Kart.
