It proved to be a rather challenging but also very productive outing for the Viti Racing drivers at the Belgian circuit of Genk in the opening round of the FIA Karting European KZ and KZ2 Championship.<\/p>\n
In the KZ class, a series of circumstances affected the qualifying sessions for the two Viti Racing drivers with Maranello Kart, Daniel Vasile and Giuseppe Palomba, but from that point on, their performances steadily improved right through to the final stages.<\/p>\n
In the end, Daniel Vasile crossed the finish line just two tenths of a second off the podium, having also set the fastest lap of the race, confirming the driver\u2019s competitiveness in the race with TM Kart engines by Viti Racing.<\/p>\n
His team-mate, Giuseppe Palomba, also staged a strong comeback, securing a final position that speaks volumes: sixth place following a remarkable climb of 14 positions, achieved thanks to the reliability of the technical team that fully supported the Italian driver.<\/p>\n
Among the 81 KZ2 drivers, the best results were achieved by Dutchman Jens Treur, who put in a very strong performance to finish 13th, whilst Frenchman Dorian Guldenfels finished well down the field, partly due to a penalty. Michale Barbaro Paparo was forced to retire at the start of the final and was unable to capitalise on a comeback that was well within his reach. Iaroslav Schevyrtalov had also made it into the final, but he too was forced to retire following a crash at the start.<\/p>\n
